1. Reference sequence
Paste or type the text/sequence to be "sequenced". Whitespace and line breaks are ignored — only the characters count as the reference.

2. Parameters
Off by default: all reads face the same direction, which is easier for students assembling reads by hand. Turn on to mimic real sequencing, where reads come from both DNA strands.
On by default so reads aren't handed out in genome order — students need to figure out the order themselves, just like real assembly.
3. Generated reads
The PDF prints landscape. Reads longer than one line wrap automatically within their cut-block, based on the font size chosen here.
